Frecuently Asked
Questions

Common questions we have encounter during our years of operation.

Hoping you find the answers you have been looking for

1

What could I do if I'm unable to find any available dates to book a grooming appointment?

Once you've submitted the intake form, you can use our booking to indicate your interest in an earlier appointment. This way, we can notify you of cancellations that may available.

2

Is there a specific arrival window and an estimated time of arrival (ETA)?

Yes, there is! Our arrival window is one hour before and after your appointment due to factors like feline behavior, coat conditions, weather and traffic. We will keep you updated with our estimated time of arrival (ETA). For our safety, we cannot text while on the road or provide updates when we are just 5 minutes away. Our estimated time of arrival (ETA) is the most accurate arrival time we can offer.

3

What can you expect after submitting your booking?

You will receive a confirmation message from the booking app. Please verify it, as the date and time may differ depending on your location. Additionally, will receive three reminder messages, giving you the option to confirm, reschedule, or cancel your grooming appointment.

4

What can you expect during your initial appointment?

Please ensure to place your cat in the carrier a few minutes prior to our arrival, as we already know our estimated time of arrival. We will have some time to assess the cat temperament & coat conditions. Please note that first appointments may take longer than usual and could incur higher costs based on the cat's age, temperament needs, and condition.

5

Do you come upstairs to my apartment building and retrieve the cat?

Unfortunately we cannot. Our insurance policies does not allow us to do so. We will park on the designated area indicated by the client. If you have cats or a larger cat, using wheeled pet carriers or enclosed pet strollers can be very helpful.

6

Can I simply carry the cat in my arms to the van?

To ensure your cat's safety, it should be securely contained in a pet carrier, enclosed pet stroller, or similar. While your cat may seem relaxed and easy to handle, unexpected situations like a barking or loose dogs, children playing loudly, or a noisy trucks could startle your calm cat and cause it to escape.

7

Is a water or electricity supply necessary for the grooming van appointment?

No, the grooming van holds 90 gallons of water and batteries. We plan the number of cats we can groom accordingly.

8

Does the has a loud generator or fumes?

No generator. Silent, green, and clean! Park in nearly any neighborhood without worrying about noise or fumes.

9

Is it possible for the groomer to provide services inside of my home?

Our insurance prohibits us from doing that. More importantly, cats tend to thrive in the van rather than in their home territory, where they know how to hide and escape, or feel threatened which could lead to defensive behavior.

10

Do you utilize fresh water or have a recycling system in place?

We use clean fresh tap water and do not have any recycled water systems in place.

11

Do you really wash the cats using water and shampoo?

Absolutely! That's the best approach. Dry shampoos remain on the fur, leaving behind harmful chemicals that your cat may ingest while licking itself.

12

Could you bathe my cat with its own medicated shampoo prescribed  by the veterinarian ?

Certainly! There is a reason for the veterinarian prescribing that shampoo. We will use it and follow the instructions on label.

13

Is it possible for me to accompany my cat in the van and assist during the grooming appointment?

Unfortunately no. Our main focus is to ensure your cat's safety and comfort. We will take breaks or stop grooming if necessary to protect their well-being. A trusting relationship between the cat and groomer is built during each appointment. On the contrary, the client's presence can disrupt that bond, as the cat might see the groomer as a threat, while constant petting from the client can worsen the situation.

14

Are lion-cuts the only grooming a cat can get?

Not at all! Actually, not every cat is a candidate for it. There are a variety of grooming services that a cat can benefit from. A lion-cut is never the groomer choice. The most common services are bath & blow-dry and nail trims. All cats get bathe and blow-dry except for the no-bath service which does not include a haircut. There are different haircuts a cat can get such as: sanitary trim, toe tuffs trim, half/full belly shave, teddy bear, bolero, mohaw, dinosaur haircut. Some of them are a variation of the lion cut like leaving a full tail or longer hair length. The teddy bear haircut is an all over trim to shorten the natural hair length for easier maintenance.

15

Why is it taking forever for the tail to grow back after a lion cut?

We highly recommend to leave a full tail lion cut variation especially when cats that are getting a lion cut are long haired. A cat tail could take up to a year to fully grow back.

16

Do you have a flea bath service?

No, we do not offer flea baths. Many flea shampoos can be harmful to cats, even if claim to be safe. Fleas can lead to various issues such as anemia, flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), Bartonella, and tapeworms. It's important to consult a veterinarian to effectively manage the situation, which includes treating all household pets for fleas and addressing the environment. Furthermore, for the safety of everyone involved, including our grooming area, our groomers other clients pets, and our own.
